The Wood, hailing from Washington DC, is the premiere "That's Not My Instrument" band on the planet. Originally formed as an endeavor to experiment with new instruments, this three piece band includes Rob Steward on Guitar and Bass, Jeremy Roberts on Guitar and Bass, and Toby Hansen on Drums. All three exceptionally talented gentlement share the vocal responsibiltiies of their eclectic brand of Rock & Roll that defies genre-based categorization.

The year was 2002, three men sat in a four-bedroom house and made a decision that changed the face of modern music. Rob, Jeremy, and Toby were already established musicians with experience in multiple bands, yet something still seemed incomplete - that defining moment in ones life when you suddenly realize with disturbing clarity that you have unwittingly written yourself into the annals of history. The Wood was born - a band based on the principle that anyone to join would have to choose an instrument that they had never before played - professionally or otherwise.

In those brief, yet monumental moments, these pioneering young musicians spoke into existence the genre that defies all genres.

They set about their Herculean task, practicing and writing, drawing upon a myriad of influences. Now they have written their epic freshmen recording, currently being tracked on their own mobile studio rig, soon to be available to you, the listener and loyal fan, for your intense audio pleasure.
